Our Promises To Your Child
Our promises to your Child:
He or she will:
Begin a Hero’s Journey.
Learn to be a curious, independent, lifelong learner.
Develop a deep respect for economic, political and religious freedoms.
Cherish the arts, wonders of the physical world and the mysteries of life on Earth.
Discover his or her most precious gifts and learn to use them to solve difficult problems.
We believe each child has a gift that can change the world in a profound way.
We believe in a closely connected family of lifelong learners.
We believe in learning to learn, learning to do, and learning to be.
We believe in economic, religious, and political freedom.
“The thought of a learning environment that incorporates active learning, includes all the senses, and emphasizes a pursuit personalized to your individual gifts, sounds amazing. What kid doesn’t deserve that?”
As parents of five children we believe strongly that they are destined to find a calling and can change the world. We believe our role as parents is to inspire and equip our children toward what we call a Hero’s Journey.
Our story began as we sought out a way for our kids to be able to learn on their own, so we could travel the world for 12 months. We were drawn to doing home school but found we were not able to do that while we traveled.
We really wanted our kids to be able to learn to learn, learn to do, and learn to be – while embracing both the ups and downs of growing up so they can become lifelong learners. Our search led us to Acton Academy – a school that’s set up in a way that the kids take responsibility of their own learning.
It really is a learner-driven micro-school, founded by educators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and parents. We are continually encouraged by other families on their own journey asking “what’s next for my family” and “how can we more intentionally do things that will empower our children”.
We invite you to explore Acton Academy Bee Cave and reach out to us as you prepare your family to change the world.
