Our Story:

As parents of five children, Sarah and I knew we wanted more than just a standard education for our kids. We wanted an environment that would inspire them to discover their unique gifts and pursue their passions with unyielding confidence. We wanted them to embrace the ups and downs of growing up, learning to navigate life’s challenges with grace and resilience.

We believed there was a magic recipe for children to become confident, competent, and nice.

But we couldn't find that school in Bee Cave, Texas—so we built it.

We founded Acton Academy Bee Cave to give our children, and yours, a place where they could learn to lead their own lives. A place where they would be encouraged to take control of their own learning, make their own decisions, and chart their own courses.

Why? Because We Believe...

In today’s world, too many young people are lost in the haze of social media addiction, anxiety, and distraction. They’re caught in the sticky tentacles of doom scrolling, FOMO, and a sense of purposelessness. It does NOT have to be this way.

We know there’s a better way.

We believe that the antidote to these modern plagues is finding and following a calling—a purpose that gives life meaning.

By setting goals, doing hard things, and overcoming challenges, your child can build self-confidence, competence, and a strong sense of who they are.

At Acton Academy Bee Cave, we give your child the tools and guidance to do just that.

Meet the Founders:

Sarah: Sarah is the Mother of five children (four of them are boys!).

She loves to adventure, learn, and explore. She has traveled (with kids) through Southeast Asia, Mexico, Central America, and New England. She lived abroad, after University, in Seoul, Korea for 1.5 years.

She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy and worked in a rehabilitation center, skilled nursing facility, and with at-risk youth after graduation. She interned at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Sarah's Super-Power is to make things fun. She loves to play and has a natural talent to create magical memorable moments. She finds joy in figuring out new ways to empower children.

Sarah’s working geniuses are Invention and Galvanizing. Enneagram 7

Matt: Prior to starting Acton Academy Bee Cave Matt worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA. He worked in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) in a group that did Internet Policy Research.

In addition, he ran his own Airbnb company in Downtown Boston where he hosted thousands of guests every few weeks. Previously, he worked at two large tech companies doing sales and customer success, traveled Southeast Asia with his wife and three kids for five months and worked full time on a Presidential Campaign.

He graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Master’s degree in Public Administration. He also lived internationally in Ribeirao Preto, Brazil for two years before attending University.

In 2019 Matt was a student of The Acton School of Business MBA’s Next Great Adventure Program. Matt loves to learn, listen, and read, he also loves to try new things and has fallen in love with wake-surfing.

Matt’s working geniuses are Wonder and Discernment. Enneagram 3 (moving towards 8…lol)
