More freedom.
To move as quickly as possible through reading, writing, math or another subject.
To work with a tight knit community of independent learners like myself.

What excites you most about Acton Academy?

The ability to move at my own pace through Core Skills like Reading, Writing, Math and Civilization.
Learning through Socratic Discussions in areas like Civilization.
Designing and executing Quests to master 21st century skills.
Executing Apprenticeships to learn real world skills.

Which do you believe is most important for finding a “calling” in life?

Discovering my most precious gifts and talents.
Being more aware of when I am in “flow” or experiencing joy in work.
Finding irresistible opportunities or great injustices in the world that inspire me.

What concerns you most about Acton?

My parents want me to go to a more traditional school.
It sounds like too much work.
I may be too far behind in reading, writing or math compared to Acton’s advanced students.
Even with apprenticeships, extraordinary friends and outside work in the community, thirty six students is a small community.
